Slim, straight and snapping-fresh, Egyptian green beans are a flagship of the country’s winter export programme and a fixture in European supermarkets. Nile Prime supplies fine and extra-fine grades picked by hand at the tender stage, with the flexibility of air freight for speed or sea freight for programme volume.
Why Egyptian Green Beans?
Egypt is one of the leading counter-season green bean suppliers to Europe, thanks to warm winter days that produce tender, stringless pods with vivid colour when European fields are dormant. Skilled hand harvesting keeps the fine and extra-fine calibres uniform — a labour-intensive standard that few origins can deliver at Egypt’s scale and cost.

Packing & Shipping
Beans are harvested in the early morning, graded by calibre and packed in ventilated 4–5 kg cartons before rapid pre-cooling. Air freight from Cairo is used where the arrival window demands it; sea programmes move in reefer containers from Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said. Every offer is quoted under Incoterms 2020 — FOB, CFR/CIF or DAP/DPU.

FAQ
What is the minimum order quantity?
Air programmes can start well below a container because the freight unit is smaller; sea programmes are quoted per full reefer. Tell us the arrival weeks and volume and we will say which route works.
Can I get samples and private label?
Yes. Carton printing and retail pack formats are produced to your specification, and samples can go out with an early air shipment.
Fine or extra fine?
Extra fine, up to 6 mm, for premium retail and food service where appearance and tenderness carry the price; fine, 6 to 9 mm, for volume programmes. Extra fine costs more to pick because the window per pod is shorter.
Air or sea for green beans?
Air where the programme needs arrival at full freshness and the margin carries the freight; sea for volume with a tight cold chain. Beans lose condition quickly once the chain breaks, so the route decision belongs before pricing.
Why is hand picking specified?
Because calibre uniformity on a fine bean cannot be achieved mechanically. Hand harvesting is what holds the grade, and it is the reason this line carries a labour cost that a machine-harvested origin does not.
