Egyptian Mangoes (Keitt, Kent, Naomi)

Egyptian Keitt, Kent & Naomi mangoes — HWT treated, 4.5 kg export cartons, peak Aug–Nov.

Category:

Egyptian mangoes have earned a devoted following among fruit importers who want intense aroma, deep colour and genuine tree-ripened flavour at a competitive landed cost. Grown in the Ismailia region and along the Nile Delta, Egyptian mangoes combine strong eating quality with a long export window that runs from early summer into autumn. Nile Prime, the export brand of PEI Trade, supplies hot-water-treated fruit packed to international retail and wholesale standards.

Why Egyptian Mangoes?

Egypt’s hot, dry summers and mineral-rich Nile soils produce mangoes with high Brix and low fibre. Because the Egyptian window runs on after several competing origins have finished, the fruit fills a valuable supply gap. Short transit times to the EU, Gulf and Asia keep freight costs down and shelf life up.

We ship from Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said under Incoterms 2020 — FOB, CFR/CIF or DAP/DPU — with air freight available where the programme justifies it.

Guides for Mango Buyers

FAQ

What is the minimum order quantity for Egyptian mangoes?

One full 40 ft reefer container, approximately 3,780 cartons. Mixed loads with other seasonal fruit are possible, and pre-shipment samples are available so you can verify quality before committing.

Do you offer private label packing?

Yes. Our packhouses can print cartons and labels to your brand specification, including buyer-specific size grading and packing formats for retail programmes.

Which mango variety should I order?

Kent and Naomi for a fuller flavour and strong retail presentation, Keitt for the later window and a firmer fruit that travels, Owaisi where regional buyers ask for it by name. Tell us the arrival weeks and we will say which is open.

What is hot water treatment and why does my fruit need it?

Immersion at 46 to 48 degrees Celsius for fruit-fly control, required by several destination markets as a condition of entry. It is scheduled into the packhouse run rather than added later, and the treatment record travels with the consignment.

How is ripeness agreed?

Against the transit time, in writing, before the first loading. The same picking stage that arrives perfectly on a short Gulf lane arrives over-ripe on a long one, so colour, firmness and expected remaining shelf life are all specified rather than described.

Should I ship by air or by sea?

Sea for volume and margin; air where the variety, the market or the arrival window will not tolerate the voyage. It changes the whole cost structure, so the decision belongs before pricing rather than after.

What happens if the fruit arrives over-ripe?

Independent inspection against the contracted ripeness specification, read alongside the reefer temperature record. This is why the specification has to be written down: a ripeness dispute without a written standard has nothing to be measured against.
