The Egyptian mango market in the week of 24 August 2026 is a Keitt-only market. Kent has finished at commercial volume, Naomi closed earlier in the month, and the fruit still moving through packhouses in Ismailia and Sharqia is late Keitt. Supply is adequate for the next three to four weeks of loading, but the size curve has narrowed and large counts are the tight end.

Sizing: counts 8 and 9 are the constraint
The Keitt size curve has moved down over the past fortnight, which is normal for the tail of the harvest. Counts 10 and 12 in the 4 kg carton are comfortably available. Counts 8 and 9 are being allocated rather than sold freely, and buyers writing a specification around large fruit only should expect either a longer lead time or a mixed-count pallet. Where a programme allows two adjacent counts in the same carton spec, it will load faster and at a better price than a single-count order.
Brix on late Keitt is holding well. Firmness at harvest is being managed tightly because remaining transit windows are long, and fruit picked slightly firmer travels better into September arrivals. The trade-off is a longer ripening cycle at destination, which is worth planning for now rather than on arrival.
Freight and loading positions
Reefer equipment out of Alexandria and Damietta is available for September sailings, but the citrus pre-season is already starting to compete for boxes and allocation gets harder from the second half of the month. GCC lanes into Jeddah, Jebel Ali and Doha remain the shortest transits and the easiest to cover at short notice. Longer lanes into Eastern Europe and Central Asia should be booked now if the fruit is meant to arrive before the season closes.
