Sweet, uniform and properly cured, Egyptian sweet potatoes have become one of the country’s fastest-growing export lines. Nile Prime ships the orange-fleshed Beauregard variety — the global retail standard — from sandy reclaimed-desert farms whose light soils produce smooth, well-shaped roots with good skin finish.
Why Egyptian Sweet Potatoes?
Egypt’s window complements the American and Spanish seasons, and its sandy soils yield clean, elongated roots with the deep orange flesh and high Brix buyers expect from Beauregard. Post-harvest curing hardens the skin and converts starches to sugars, giving Egyptian sweet potatoes months of shelf life and good arrival quality even on long voyages.

FAQ
What is the minimum order quantity?
One full container, roughly 22 to 24 MT per 40 ft. Carton format is chosen between 6 kg retail and 18 kg bulk according to how the fruit is sold at your end.
Do you offer samples and private label?
Yes. Carton printing and retail formats are produced to your specification, and samples can be sent ahead of a first order.
Why must sweet potatoes not be chilled?
Below roughly 12 degrees Celsius they suffer chilling injury, which shows as internal discolouration and hard core after cooking. The container runs at 13 to 15 degrees, and a well-meant instruction to run it colder is the fastest way to ruin a load.
What does curing actually do?
It hardens the skin against handling damage and converts starch to sugar, which is what makes the root sweet and gives it months of storage life. An uncured sweet potato is both blander and far more fragile.
How should I specify size?
By weight band rather than by count, matched to how your market sells: retail packs want a tight mid band, food service takes a wider range. State the band and the tolerance.
