Glossy, deep purple and firm to the touch, Egyptian eggplant enjoys one of the longest supply windows in the Mediterranean — nine months from September to May. Nile Prime ships both the classic dark type favoured by wholesalers and delicate baby eggplant for specialty retail and foodservice, all harvested at the tender stage before seeds mature.
Why Egyptian Eggplant?
Egypt’s mild autumns and winters allow near-continuous eggplant harvesting when European production retreats indoors, giving buyers stable volume and competitive pricing across three seasons. Careful hand harvesting with the calyx intact, plus quick cooling, protects the sensitive skin that determines eggplant’s shelf appeal.

Packing & Shipping
Fruit is cut with clean calyx, graded and packed in 5–10 kg cartons with liners that protect the skin from abrasion. Because eggplant is chilling-sensitive, our reefer containers run at a controlled 10–12 °C from packhouse to port. We load at Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said and quote under Incoterms 2020 — FOB, CFR/CIF or DAP/DPU.
FAQ
What is the minimum order quantity?
One full container. Mixed loads are easy to build — eggplant shares its carriage temperature with cucumbers, tomatoes and zucchini, so combined winter-vegetable containers are routine.
Do you provide samples and private label?
Yes. Samples can be arranged before your first contract, cartons can carry your own brand and labelling, and SGS or Intertek can verify quality before loading.
