Vacuum-cooled within hours of cutting, Egyptian lettuce arrives with the crunch of a head harvested yesterday. Nile Prime supplies iceberg and romaine from November to April, serving supermarket programmes, foodservice distributors and processors across the Gulf and Europe during the northern hemisphere’s leanest months.
Why Egyptian Lettuce?
Cool Delta winters produce dense iceberg heads and upright, sweet romaine exactly when Spanish and domestic European supply tightens. The decisive factor is post-harvest speed: vacuum cooling pulls field heat out of every head in minutes, extending shelf life dramatically and letting Egyptian lettuce compete head-to-head with any origin on arrival quality.

Packing & Shipping
Heads are cut, trimmed and packed in the field at 8–12 heads per carton, then vacuum-cooled to near 0 °C before loading into reefer containers that hold that temperature to destination. Shipments leave from Alexandria, Damietta, Sokhna and Port Said under Incoterms 2020 — FOB, CFR/CIF or DAP/DPU.
